We already transcode uploaded videos into audio by default, but you can't get them through peertube. Maybe I need funkwhale which is the audio version of peertube 🤔 However it's still a feature request to add audio to lives. The bit you care about is:Add a new « audio-only » resolution (in the « 720p », « 1080p », etc. menu) for our HLS player. It will enable users to only get the audio track streamed to them, improving sustainability when they only want to listen to a video and look at other tabs.

Just note - lives that save don't encode audio yet so there is not an option to download them.
