@judgedread My suspicion is that Newsom is keeping Whitmer in reserve as a VP prospect for 2028, in the event that he requires a hole for a running mate in order to appease the hole-vote nationwide. And being that Whitmer has ambitions to be the first hole president, and thus needs to ride a Newsom presidency into realistic contention, she understandably has to distance herself from Biden despite being instrumental in stealing the 2020 election for him.

But, as is too often the case, that wife of his and her insufferable big mouth inflicted as much damage to his campaign as Karl Rove’s “swiftboat” assassins.
