@gavin57 @BeAware @verge Well, the most obvious use case is an automatic caption generator, with a variety of details in the description, in multiple languages, and the ability to ask additional questions if a person doesn't understand something from the original captions. The models with such capabilities already exist, but their accessible integration into mainstream software and operating systems raises questions. Perhaps corpos will address this in some way 🤷♀️

@lonelyowl @gavin57 @verge Visually impaired folks definitely use it for a lot of things.I am neurodivergent and also have hydrocephalus so my brain doesn't exactly work the same way as everyone else. So, I use it for describing things for visually impaired folks and sometimes use it to proofread my grammar and such.So....calling me an eater of rocks and glue doesn't really sit well.

@BeAware @lonelyowl @verge In this context, Google Gemini should be nowhere near anyone who actually 'needs' AI. Not everyone has the wherewithal to know the AI cannot be relied upon for anything.If Gemini were a sat nav, many drivers would find themselves in the sea.

@gavin57 @BeAware @verge Yeah, every time google releases something deep learning it ends up doing something terrible. From that image classifier that identified black people as gorillas to imagen generating images of asian nazis, to this case of pizza with rocks and glue 🤔
