Electrolux make marvellous appliances that do a great job 99.98% of the time. When they break, you literally have to drag them to authorities and regulators to do anything about it. https://blog.simonrumble.com/how-to-get-your-stuff-repaired-when-the-retailer-and-manufacturer-dont-wanna-take-em-to-court

Electrolux told me they'd send someone to repair my washing machine that refused to turn on. When the tech arrived, he said it was my fault because there was damp near the washing machine (he was apparently unaware of what a washing machine does and how), and he would order a new power switch for it which would take 16 weeks.

Once the Fair Trading complaint was in, a larger, newer model arrived in a truck within two days after a phone call from The One Person In Electrolux Who Can Do Stuff.

@geordie Yeah they have great service when you call their service line, which strangely is the same number as NCAT.

@geordie I can't remember what appliance it was but something broke a few years ago. The person I spoke to started rattling on about warranties, to which I mentioned the Competition and Consumer Act (without mentioning I am a lawyer. His response was to shout "don't threaten me."I still got the replacement though.

@RanTLaw yeah IANAL but I've found using specific words like "not of merchantable quality" causes the guy who can actually make decisions to appear.

@geordie @RanTLaw one of the reasons why I love Breville, – if the item you bought has any issues, they say, just bring it back to the shop where you bought it and get a replacement
