@ajroach42 It appears my father in law may be about to become mayor of the town they live in. It's surprising to me how easy it can be to get sucked into local politics in a small town if you care about what's happening there. Maybe everyone should live in a jurisdiction small enough for that to be the case? Not sure it would really be better, though; there are trade-offs, like the risk of the town becoming like an HOA.

Alright, I unloaded all the hid drivers and rebooted and now my touchscreen works. "works" It's sticky. It doesn't always register that I have stopped touching it. This appears to be particularly bad in some places on the screen. Unfortunately, those places on the screen are the fucking corners, you know where the menu bottons live.

The touch screen is super sloppy when used with a finger. It might be better with a pen. I didn't buy a pen with my initial order, instead planning to get one from a third party. At this rate, I don't know if the device will live long enough for that. Even my damn pinetab has better touchscreen tracking than this.

And autorotating the screen causes the touchscreen to go in to sticky mode, and not release. This can only be solved by the keyboard, which isn't attached.

@ajroach42 I am guessing this is related to your new Linux tablet, but it ended up in the thread about meeting with people.Thanks for sharing your experiences! I hope they're able to be solved, but I suppose that depends on how much of the touchscreen problems are due to crappy hardware that can't be worked around in software.
