#NZTwits emergency water question:When you're storing your 3 litres per person per x days of water in jugs in the garage, what are you sterilising it with?A tsp of bleach? Aquatabs? Other? Please be specific, you know we can't rely on Google for this shit.

@seawallI'm storing in opaque 20l containers. 15ml of domestic hypochlorite bleach per container. Not great tasting but bleach - despite the bad rap - isn't very toxic so lousy taste is about it. If you want to be able to press any stored water into service rapidly, get everyone a "Sawyer" filter (or Lifestraw at a pinch). We also keep a Katadyn filter in the CD kit for bulk purification and medical use, but that thing is deffo overkill.
