:lego_laugh: It took #Apple only 18 years to give users the freedom to place apps where they want on the homescreens!(without a jailbreak)

@stux It's exactly this sort of thing that stops me using Apple stuff.I had an Iphone 4S and wanted to swap Xmas photos of the kids with my BiL who had, at the time, the world's shittiest Android.Couldn't use Bluetooth to do this, even though he could because Apple didn't like you using it that way, even though the phone had the tech. Never bought another Apple product.

@stux and apparently #Apple is the better, more polished platform.

@rj Well, yes!It does is kinda strickt and not open source but compared to Android it doesn't feel like cheese :blobblush: The App Store for example is a looooad cleaner then the Play Store

@stux I'll give you that, but using it on my work phone and an older iPad (from work) it STILL shows apps that the device can't run, which doesn't happen in the Play Store.

@stux is it true that in the US, Apple is considered to be 'The Geek' platform, whilst Android is the non-geek alternative whereas everywhere else, you're a geek if you're on Android and enjoy the freedom to use your phone however you want? What's geeky about being locked in and told how to use your device?

@rj Also yes and no :blobcatgiggle: It depends I guess, I always loved jailbreaking my device because I could and did things not really needed on a phone! But i love how it generally just works, no buggyness or whateverFor my mom for example, she installs everything that can be downloaded so she has constant spam/maleware etc etc so for her a iPhone would be a lot better

@stux Even then, there are people who are against this move. Here's the quote related."In some sense, throughout the years Apple limited the customisation in order to protect the users from themselves. No matter whose iPhone you've taken, there was some sort of modesty and tidiness on a homescreen. Now that the safety's off, we must prepare to face the monsters produced by the sleep of reason."
