sigh, once again I've ended up with a broken apt situation on Debian. I have unmet dependencies somehow, particularly libc6 (>= 2.38) but 2.36-4 is to be installed; apt-get -f install refuses to run because I don't have the usrmerge package installed, and usrmerge requires the updated libc6 to install.I hate computer.

Digging into this, it looks like bookworm decided to just completely drop support for non-usrmerged systems, which meant that as soon as those packages came into sid everything broke? Debian's been making questionable decisions again, I guess!(I know I'm hilariously late in upgrading. Ironically I've been holding off because I wanted to make sure that the usrmerge had any bugs ironed out of it before going ahead with such a massive change…)

I've grabbed usrmerge (and all its dependencies) manually as .debs from bullseye and installed them, which seemed to do what usrmerge promised to do. I've now switched my sources list from sid to bookworm (the latest debian release). My libc is somehow too new for that, so I got aptitude to figure out a solution. It's downloading libc and upgrading a whole bunch of other things. Downgrading libc… what could go wrong? Ah well, the system's broken already…

Well, I've rebooted (first time in 120 days!) and everything seems to be working… let's try a full dist-upgrade now.

Ah, yes, I can't open Discord currently because their shitty force-upgrade thing wants me to install... a third party debian package before I can continue. And I can't do that because dpkg is currently occupied with this upgrade. COMPUTERS.

Welp, my system is now rendered useless to me. The upgrade worked but my tablet is completely broken, this is what happens when I try to draw circles and straight lines (physically) with Krita.But it's okay, I'm sure this is the year of Linux on the Desktop 🤬

I'm distraught about this. My current setup is (was) the only way I have to do art in a desktop environment. If anyone familiar with #wacom on #linux has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. (It's not #krita's fault here, I can see the mouse jogging around as I move it elsewhere with the tablet too). This is an X11 session on a freshly upgraded #Debian Bookworm.

Bit of extra info: 1. it's a Wacom Graphire4 6x8, which I know is ancient, but it worked fine before the upgrade. One of the things I loved about Linux is that it Just Worked, while Windows and Mac don't support it any more.2. The Wacom Intuos Pro S I got a few years ago as a mouse replacement for a previous job (since using a mouse for long periods gives me RSI) seems to work fine. It's too tiny for art though.

Soooo uh, after taking a break, I came back, plugged the thing back in, but to a different port in the laptop, rather than the USB hub it's plugged into usually and… it works again now?Will report back after I've slept the laptop (and myself) because I can't make any sense of that at all. I'd already re-plugged the hub several times before this.

I don't remember ever seeing this type of offsets, periodical as the one I can see on your circle.My first instinct would have been to check on the cable; or a physical device that can do magnetic noises; but the case I saw of magnetic noise (with heaphones, or sound systems bg magnet) are usually more noisy and do a lot of random coordinates.On your img, it looks like only vertical is affected, and shortly...
