We’re in this twee little shipping container “tiny house hotel” and it’s raining very loudly. I’m glad that we didn’t try to motorcycle geeez. I’m exhausted but the super loud rain is very relaxing.

I don’t know why they call it a “tiny house” it’s like a full studio apartment and has a kitchen, a little grill on the deck, hot shower… It *is very rustic so five stars for that. It even has this nice spider named Herpyllus ecclesiasticus. (Eastern parson spider)🕷️

@futurebird Thank you, I learned the Parson spider is named for its marking that resembles a formerly worn "parson's cravat". Etymology is more my bag than entomology or arthropods but, here they intersect. Still, my remaining trepidation for a very nearsighted old lady (me) is how close I have to get to a spider to peer at its markings to identify it. Opening a large dictionary is less physically nerve-racking.

@futurebird I'm absolutely terrible at identifying species. To me this looks exactly like a wolf spider, common here in TX. While not deadly, they do have a nasty bite, so I usually send them right out the door.
