Suppose you cut Wolverine in half, top to bottom. What happens:A) Half dies, other half livesB) Both regenerate into new WolverineC) Half dies, other half lives, but the regenerated Wolverine has problems related to having two right or two left hemphispheresD) Both regenerate, but with the problem described in C.

@ZachWeinersmith It's an impossible question; you can't cut him in half, because his skeleton is covered in an indestructible substance. The most you could do is halve his flesh, and maybe get the skeleton to go with one half like a peach pit when you bisect the fruit.

@ZachWeinersmith There have been cases of a kid where 1/2 of the brain (1 hemisphere) failed to materialize and the other half of the brain rewired to take over all functions, to no ill effect. Hemispherectomy is a thing, fixes seizures. https://www.uclahealth.org/medical-services/pediatric-neurosurgery/conditions-treatment/pediatric-epilepsy-surgery/epilepsy-treatment/hemispherectomyI've half a mind to research this further, later on.

@ZachWeinersmith Nothing can cut adamantium, so your cutting device (laser or whatever) is so powerful you cut space-time. You end up with a quantum superposition of two Wolverines, one with two left hemispheres, the other with two right hemispheres. He regenerates twice as fast but has strange problems because he coexists in two universes with a duplicated half brain.

@ZachWeinersmith Top half begins to regrow the bottom half, and for a time Wolverine toddles around on tiny little baby legs. Bottom half simply heals over the wound and scampers away into the woods as an animated lower torso, the source of bigfoot legends in the Marvel Universe. This was all very clearly discussed in X-Uberant Hootenany Annual #7.

@ZachWeinersmith Could go the route Heroes did with Claire where if something blocks regeneration then they stay dead until the block can be removed. In her case it was a tree branch in the base of her skull, in this case it would be distance. Reunite the two halves and he comes back to life.

The top half had to crawl to the bottom half and wait to fuse.In a "What if..." Kitty phases her hand into his brain and leaves it there to kill him...

@ZachWeinersmith This was sort-of answered recently in the comics, and it's totally stupid. Wolverine pulled his own hands and feet off, then a week or something later got them sewed back on to no ill effect. So both halves would just go on living as halves, probably indefinitely. Though presumably, the half with the brain would be the only half able to move around and stuff.
