A teaser of our new feature: Private Access Sharing! It allows you to share files & folders stored on #ProtonDrive directly via email, providing enhanced control over your shared content. For now it’s available to users on the Visionary plan with the beta access on.

@protonprivacy how about easy sharing to other people on Proton Drive such as people on a family plan? Sending a link via email etc is not that great.

@protonprivacy Visionary plan user here. Pleeeeease let me access my 6TB of proton drive in more useful ways than the desktop app. I want to back up my NAS to it, for example.

@protonprivacy If I share a folder, does that mean it will appear under “Shared” in the account of the person I am sharing with. Or is the only way they can access the folder is by the link in the email?

@protonprivacy Got access to the feature yesterday! And I'm testing it with my boyfriend 😊It works great. When adding someone with Edit permission to a folder, they can add files to it 👍

@KellyandRoger @protonprivacy When you share using this new feature, people you add will find the files and folders in the new "Shared with me" tab (on the web only for now). The email sent is only for notification purposes

@barcaxavi @mvyrmnd @protonprivacy I read a few weeks ago that this wasn't working anymore due to changes in the ProtonDrive API. Still working on your end? Btw a Linux Proton Drive app is definitely a key missing feature at the moment.

@barcaxavi @hydrowalrus @mvyrmnd Hi! rclone on its own is not a problem, and while we don't have Linux support on Proton Drive at this time, we don't actively block it. The issue seems to be that many users of rclone run a sync every 10 minutes, which in turn triggers mechanisms on our end designed to assure fair use and balance the load on our infrastructure.We have now modified some settings on our end, which should make it easier to use rclone, but we advise not to run sync too frequently.
