@sapphire yeah, if it's a desktop/laptop, i get iti have a couple of stacks that "support" freebsd, but it's a pain, so i just bhyve ubuntu or debian or whatever and do that on top of zfsbut it's server hardware, and i don't need or want a gui

@sapphire >zfs.Taht is where you fucked up, should have just used btrfs for the whole disk with subvolumes, the advantage is you don't need full disk encryption cuz as soon as another machine with an older kernel tries to mount the filesystem it will corrupt the contents.
