Removed most social/chat apps from my computer and phone. The interactive aspect keeps sucking me in. I have an addictive personality, so I'm actually perceiving it as a serious problem.I'm way more attached to these electronic comunication services than anyone on them to is me. To me, that makes it an asymmetric and thus unhealthy relationship.I'm far too easy to distract to have these things around me. So I'm gonna take a break from Mastodon as well.

@thj I tried doing this several times and it doesn't work. You don't have an adictive personality but rather social media keeps you afloat when you're lonely. If you're busy, you'll see that you don't need the internet unless you pay something or read the news. So, probably, you'll be back. In the meantime, I'd suggest reading, as you get new information to ponder on. Or re-analyse what you wrote on social media as if you read something written by a different person and you're either a potential employer or a potential partner. And see if you'd write something differently (or at all). Or if you project something you'd rather regret afterwards. Because, from what I see, you give both helpful advice and fair criticism, but perhaps to the wrong ones and perhaps a "filter" could help (not everyone likes bluntness or authenticity - I'm sure you're not going to enjoy this honest message of mine). See you when you come back!
