My adoptive mother had a big green bottle of paregoric--when I was a child during the '60s, she dosed me regularly. I didn't mind, it knocked me out. Dreamless sleep. 5+ decades later, I can still remember the taste. #adoption #AdopteeVoices

@BootsChantilly As a routinely sickly child of the 1960s, I *probably* received some, too. And—perhaps this is not wise—I'd probably use it on myself now, if I had a bottle in the medicine cabinet. 😆
