Hey! Did you know I sell VHS tapes? That means I also *buy* VHS tapes.Vintage tape sales have been steady, but I haven't had a chance to restock much lately because of *all the things* (see https://ajroach42.com/some-surprise-expenses/ ) So, I'm doing something a little unusual. Okay, so I'm looking to buy VHS tapes. I am generally looking for the following: 70s/80s kids stuff and cartoons, scifi, horror, fantasy, scifi and adventure films. 80s stuff is preferred, 90s stuff is also good usually. I'm in north GA. I resell tapes for $3 - 5 unless they're especially desirable, so I need to pay less than $2 with shipping (unless we're talking about particularly rare or interesting tapes, which would be a very different conversation.)

Specifically, I'm looking for the live action TMNT, the animated TMNT, Filmation's Ghostbusters, any small/indie horror, scifi, etc. Any direct to video movies. Star Kid, The warriors of Virtue, basically any anime or tokusatsu, anything from Troma, Roger Corman, etc. I'm also down for stuff about UFOs, bigfoot, etc.

We move about 50 vintage tapes a month. It's not big money. I've probably only made $2k in the year+ that we've been selling them. I put most of that back in to new inventory, because having the tapes available for sale drives more traffic to the other stuff that we do. I don't have a huge budget to spend, I don't make a lot of money on these, but if you've got old tapes you're looking to get rid of (and especially if your in the north GA area) I can help.

@ajroach42 I'll keep an eye out for things you might want, I pretty consistently am looking for VHS at thrift stores for my personal collection and I can set aside anything that's a duplicate of stuff I already have for you.

@ajroach42 I cant get you an inventory list super soon but my dad has a literal wall of VHS tapes he would probably be willing to part with.I'll do my best to try and remember to snap some photos so you can peruse the wares, and negotiate a flat rate sell/ship with him on your behalf.

@ajroach42 Recently found out that my ex-mother-in-law threw out her collection of VHS tapes. She had an entire room with floor-to-ceiling shelves on every wall packed with them. Hundreds, if not thousands. All in a landfill now. :(

@ajroach42 Same, landfill is the saddest place. She knows I'm into Old Stuff, but I guess didn't reach out to me because I'm not super into VHS. But I'd have found someone who would have loved them.Sure did call me to let me know that the nationwide EAS test was "going out on a harmful carrier wave" and "they're saying it targets people who got the COVID vaccine" though.
