I gotta tell you, I'm not at all here for the Yann LeCun Redemption tour; dude shoved LLM/GPT shit into every corner of facebook/meta, got mad when people exposed its failure points, and then pivoted to being like "AI ain't that great," without ever acknowledging that he bears some responsibility for this landscape because he was, in fact, a hype merchant.

@Wolven Yep, so lacking in intellectual integrity. I've seen exactly the same kind of behavior from various people involved in AI, they were all hype merchants now pretending they've been critical realists all along. They're more interested in being the center of attention than they are in critical thinking (they also mistake math for science and think they're scientists when they're actually doing engineering....all to say, just a huge swirling vortex of hubris and narcissistic need to be seen as serious people when they act like unserious ones, patriarchal power is one hell of a drug).
