@protonprivacy any chances of hosting it via F-Droid as well? You already have Pass and VPN there, wouldn't mind Mail and Drive too :)

@protonprivacy And the source code too, thanks a bunch! Is there a reason why issues are disabled on the repo?Even if you guys don't plan to use them, it'd still be a useful forum for users to track issues workarounds and fixes. While we're on the topic, could you re-enable issues on the old repo for posterity's sake? The repo is archived anyways, so there won't be any further activity as issues automatically become read-only.

@protonprivacy There is still no option to archive an email when viewing the email. I can do that on the iOS app and on the web, but not on the Android app.

@protonprivacyReally missing a F-droid release, this would've been a nice chance to do so.Or even just having your own F-droid repro (in which case you're not bound to the F-droid rules, but at least users could download and keep track of updates without using the Google Play Store) 😕.That's bothering me much more than the app itself ever did. Counts for all your apps really (beside the ones already on F-droid ofc)...

@protonprivacy looks good and I’m glad the app is getting so much better on both iOS and Android. These Android folks clamoring for more “private” store options are giving me a good laugh though. You all know what you signed up for.

@AutisticallyDriven @protonprivacy Fortunately, Android lets me create a shortcut to the ProtonMail site, and I can use it like an app, but not everybody knows how or wants to do that, so I’d love to see this functionality return to the Android app.

@kevingamin You can also set up your swipe gesture to automatically move messages to Archive by swiping left or right. This can be modified in your app settings.

@protonprivacy These are both true, but my workflow is to archive, so having that one tap option down in the bottom would be nice, especially since I have it elsewhere and since it was in the older version of the Android app. Consider this a feature (return) request.

@protonprivacyDoes it have some build in updater or at least notification, like Signal does for example?Wanting a f-droid release is not only about easy install without Play Store, but also ease of keeping everything on the system up-to-date without it. And we all know that keeping systems up-to-date is important for security purposes.

@Cambion At the moment, not natively, but some of our community has suggested using Obtanium to do this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/1d1o3qw/comment/l5wa83c/Bear in mind that this method has not been officially tested nor is it endorsed by us, so if you do decide to try it, use it at your own risk.F-droid availability is planned, but we don't have a specific timeline to confirm at the moment.

@protonprivacy Great work! 💪Any chance users will be able to toggle threads on and off, both in the app and in the web version? Ironically, like some other people I have immense trouble following email conversations if threaded and end up missing emails, so it would be lovely if you could make it an optional thing like other email providers do. 🙏
