       Someone has listed a copy of Mdou Moctar's Purple Rain on ebay. It's too much money to spend on a DVD, but: - I would like to see it - I won't pay for a DRM rental - It's long out of print - I can't find it on any piracy platforms

       I had a gift card from Christmas I hadn't used yet, so I bought the disc. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I'll probably rip it and re-sell it, or rip it and shelve it forever. But I'll get to see it and share it with folks and maybe pester the company that produced it in to letting us stream it on NETV.

       Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai (English: “Rain the Color of Blue with a little Red in it”) is not exactly Purple Rain, but it is a tribute to Purple Rain starring Mdou Moctar. I can't say much about it until I watch it, but I very much want to watch it.

       Mdou played atlanta a few years ago, just after Covid restrictions were lifted. I did not attend, and I have regretted it since. (But it was also like on a Tuesday night or something like that, and I wasn't about that life.)

       @ajroach42 They came through Providence, I think it was the first date of that same tour. It was a very excellent show, he's a hell of a guitar player.
