I was copying a Totally Legal Game Backup onto my roommate's switch and it confused Windows so much that it told me I had the wrong floppy diskette in the drive.

@ok_devalias amusingly I was actually working on a cow farm simulator a few years ago, then twitter and unity both exploded out from under us so we canceled it

gah. I'm having continual trouble with a modded switch, because you need a microSD card which you copy files onto and they keep getting corrupted. I corrupted my first SD card by trying to copy a game that was too big and the fat filesystem filling with lost sectors, so I wiped it and started setting it up again. My idea was that I'd set it up and then image the whole SD card!

I get the new SD card set up, but before I image it I try copying a single game onto it.this corrupted the filesystem. See the above error? That was windows deciding the microSD card wasn't formatted anymore

@KayOhtie good question. I was following the guide which had me format it from the TegraExplorer payload, and I'm not sure how it formatted it.

@foone make sure your SD Card actually has the advertised capacity too. It’s very common for counterfeit ones to report X capacity on the firmware while having actually X/2, and it causes this exact issue

@foone You may need the help of about 34 people to insert that floppy because with a capacaty of over 2GB it has to be incredibly big.🤣

Using Awoo-Installer's network mode to avoid having to copy a bunch of files on and off of the SD card seems to have kept it from instantly corrupting itself. So now I'm backing up the SD card as a dd-image. I can just re-image it or stick it on a second card if something goes wrong

@foone i leave the SD card in my modded switch all the time and Connect via USB cable to the Computer. No corruption ever via dbi installer. Maybe worth a shot.

@foone Also, windows hates the emunand partition that you probably created.I've had to re-hack switches from scratch too many damn times.

@foone Venturing a guess. Possibly incorrect, lol.If the MBR is overwritten, it should no longer be recognized by the file system. Windows sees a removable device has disappeared. If there was a write op pending, Windows probably defaulted to the OG removable and threw the error. Especially weird with new device IDs until they get added in an upgrade. If you get it set up again & it mounts, I'd want to try a reboot to clear cache & see Windows re-mount it before writing a game to it.
