It kinda sucks that people, organizations and companies looks at #recall, hate it, and then continue to boot up Windows because "my games" :(

Yeah yeah, I know you have to enable it manually on those "AI PC's", but still.Soon in a PC near you, most likely on your desk.Unless you actively take a stance against it and switch to something more - free?

@selea One day, with one update that opt in will turn into an opt out. With another update that will turn into "break the OS if opted out...". Track record of M$ is terrible on this. I remember only the time, they backed out from "IE as an integral part of OS", and that was under serious governmental pressure.Strangely most "enterprise" computer usage can be easily move away from MS these days, with many Office alternatives and most operational stuff is on web. They only need to beat habits.

@selea Not only that. I see many people who play league of legends complaining because of Vanguard, but they are still installing that crap. I seriously worry about Windows in my workplace , I have been trying to switch to any Linux (even a systemd distro) because the OS is so invasive but I haven't been successful. I just see look at the pihole dashboard and I see that windows is on the top trying to collect more and more data.

@selea I agree. It does suck in a big way. And this is only the beginning. But I'll say "because my games" anyway, on my desktop computer; because I still play FPS games with my kids as a social activity. Having said that, I don't think MickeymouseSoft will learn much from my Linux VMs on that machine ๐On my laptops, it's a different story, pure Linux since forever ๐ง ๐ #privacy #windows #recall

@selea First thing I do after I've bought a new pc, is deleting all games and stuff like Netflix. Too much a waste of time.

@selea I expect the new Xbox generation will be so full of this shit too. I really hope the new Elder Scrolls NPCs donโt go through my browsing history to tailor their remarks.

@selea Luckily, most of my games run on Linux. I had to switch years ago because Windows looks so ugly, and there's no way to change it. Back then, Windows lacked Unicode support for Planes 1-16, package manager, a lot of terminal applications, was a performance hog, and lacked Aisleriot solitaire.

@selea it's crazy that I just switched to Linux as a daily driver a few days before that announcement

@selea Haven't used Windows personally in almost 15 years. If it won't run on Linux/a console (yes I am aware those have their own issues, esp Xbox now, and I am seriously considering ending my Game Pass sub) I don't play it.
