This is the reason #Mastodon social blocked me from the server and this social media site is doomed if it has this level of reading comprehension. I once again, would not recommend a mastodon migration to anyone who asks.

I find that logic very strange. Surely at some point between when the Nazis came to power in 1933 (when they had officially murdered 0 Jewish people) and when they were defeated (by which time they had managed to murder 6,000,000) there was a point in time when 35,000 Jews had been murdered. Were they not engaged in a genocide at that point too? If not, and more murders are necessary for it to be a genocide, what's the figure? Does it have to be close to 6,000,000? If Israel murders all 2.3m Palestinians living in Gaza, is that close enough? or does it have to be more still?

Any sensible definition would be something genuinely insane like "Jews killed 6 million innocent Nazis during WW2". Instead, Gargron's definition is "Daring to criticize present-day Israel for carrying out genocide."I definitely didn't have "Mastodon pulls back curtain to reveal a god-mod who uses his brain like a toilet for corporate media to 💩 in" on my bingo card.

@MySideIsHumanity @Captain_Jack_Sparrow @milton @LALegault so are mastodon.world and cloud and kolektiva much better about all this? we need to avoid any server being so large for exactly this reason. we also need a pact servers can sign onto that more clearly supports unpopular speech that some will even say makes them feel unsafe, from harassment. That different people will draw those lines differently for different issues might be the more difficult problem.

@Captain_Jack_Sparrow @MySideIsHumanity I don't know that it's him and everybody should block who they want. my view is you block harassers, not horrible views. you push back on them to the degree you are able and have the time. it would be easy for him to start another account, even on his own server, pretend to be normal etc. we can't permanently remove non illegal websites. same with people here.
