#TIL The sun (and with that the earth) has only done about 20~30 laps around the galactic center, humans are not even close to a single lap. We'll likely will never complete one either... (takes 230 million years)There are stars moving at the speed of about half the speed of light... (J0927 & J0927)

My mind is so used to things going around things on a regular basis. But the sun is likely to only to do maybe another 20~30 laps before it dies. But not even the dinosaurs survived for an entire lap (they did more than half though), mammals have done a bit over 1/3, humans don't even show. It boggles my nugget.

Birds have done over half of a lap now. Just that for all these massive things, we can't even count a single loop.
