Was just browsing bsky’s open feed to see how that works and within 3 clicks I was back on mstdn :blobhappy: To be honest I find Bsky still so messy, not only the code build up but also the platform itselfMy guess is that people find it ‘more easy’ compared to Mastodon for example because you’ll be signing up on their server by defaultNot sure if that’s a good thing though

@stux IMO both platforms function quite well but I like Mastodon more, less clout chasers and "one-way" accounts that only broadcast...

@stux You’ve answered your own question— this is definitely a key point whenever I talk to Bskyers. They don’t like having to understand instances, block lists, or any of the more technical aspects of the fediverse. They just want to talk and make sure everyone can see their stuff.

@stux IME the sticking point for all my friends as to why they are not here is the multiple servers; I try to explain that that's our refuge from capital capture and therefore the thing we must both live with and defend, but no-o-o, It'S tOo HaRd.

@stux I agree. But I also think Bsky has a very good approach toward a type of federated discussion and moderation that could act as an overlay with the concept of stackable moderation and followable discussion topics. We kinda have that here with the #threadiverse (Lemmy, Kbin, etc) There’s also a form of portable identity with the PDS system. We saw this with Zot ans Hubzilla earlier; there’s an FEP that should as some of this here. ATProto has some nice stuff in it, I’ll admit.

@stux @GottaLaff I go there from time to time because there are people who I miss from Twitter that have migrated over to bluesky. Mostly authors.The big difference is that Mastodon feels like a community while bluesky feels less interactive.
