@Type_Other @UmbrellaTech Just as the original Mortal Combat's primary appeal was pretty much exactly that, we can rationalize that finding fantasy depictions of taboo subject matter appealing or interesting doesn't equate to a moral alignment to it beyond the fantasy context. Hundreds of millions of people play GTA games for the primary appeal of the horrible things you can do in the games, and 99.9% of them would never even think about doing those things outside of the context.

People don't generally play violent games for the fantasy of brutally killing innocents.Postal is a cult classic, while Hatred sucked and was forgotten--because one was a hilarious shitpost of a game while the other wanted you to take its grimdark edgy violence seriously. If people really played for "murder simulators" it'd be the other way around.

"From my perspective, it is quite clear that the tone and style of the OP matches that description quite well. This is most people here, but I can understand not understanding it. Like a concerned mom in 2002, it's hard for an outsider to differentiate "Postal" fans from "Hatred" fans. This is an example of that.
