@ZachWeinersmith Toilette doesn't necessarily mean toilet... Like Eu de toilette, it can also simply mean something you use on the bathroom. For non toilet related things. :)

@RonanLK Never heard of it till today! I'm sure you can get them but I think it'd be a novelty in the US?

@ZachWeinersmith @Minski the glove part is because you use it in the sink. You put your hand inside it, get it wet on the sink, add a little soap, and then proceed to soap your body with it. sometimes only the upper body. Then you rinse it, and use it to remove the soap from the body. The "glove" part makes it easier to use like that than a sponge or a towel.

@ZachWeinersmith @Minski I have a pair of exfoliating gloves I sometimes use in the shower. Doesn't seem that weird to me. Granted, putting them on and taking them off can take a minute, but they're easier to wrangle during use than a washcloth.

@ZachWeinersmith more practical when used with soap bars by the sink, before bathroom with showers.

@ZachWeinersmith Technically it might be more of a mitt than a glove, but it's a pretty common thing in my part of the world (which is pretty close to France...)

@ZachWeinersmith@mastodon.social LOL.In France, we don't usually have washcloths but "wash gloves." Not actually a glove, but two washcloths sewn together on three sides if you want.Apparently, it's called "washing mitt" in English (TIL too)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washing_mitt#France #washing #showering
