Lot of people telling me we know the Earth is round because the people in space look at it all the time but how do we know it's not just a very cleverly made sprite? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprite_(computer_graphics)

@ZachWeinersmith Because the universe has chips to accelerate sprites (like an Amgia), but the Earth is still glitchy and needs leap seconds

@ZachWeinersmith Astronauts are just given acid and shaken in a vat for a while, then let out on sound stages like the ones used to fake the moon landing. The sound stages were meant to have realistic flat earths on them but someone pulled a prank and painted round earths, the first astronauts went on it before anyone realised and now they just have to run with it as it's too late to reverse the prank.#NotSerious #ICanDoBetter

@ZachWeinersmith all particles look at you, so they're just really tiny sprites? maybe?

@ZachWeinersmith Consider that string theory says we have 20 some odd dimensions. But we experience in 3 to 4 dimensions. (Our experience of time is warped by it only going in one direction). So we see a projection of all those dimensions onto the few we grok. Would the difference between 2 and 3 dimensional projections really be significant?

@ZachWeinersmith It can't *just* be a cleverly-made sprite, they might need a CRT emulation layer to create the illusion of a curved surface...

@ZachWeinersmith If the Earth was a sprite, it would always face you. (cf. the Moon)
