@WolvenI think you're right. Btw, I met Kwame Ture in the 70s, though he wasn't a Black Panther by then. Weirdly this was in Pullman, Washington. Impressive person. Also, I'm old.

@Wolven The Black Panthers were not the terrorists most Americans believe...they worked very hard to improve conditions in their communities, day care, food programs and so on.The Black Panthers addressed many of the issues brought about by systemic racism.

@Wolven some of my wife's (white) grandparents were farmers in california when the Panthers bought a plot of land next door, trying to start a commune or a coop of some sortand they said the Panthers were their best neighbors because among all the farmers they were the only ones who kept to themselves and didn't constantly play games over property lines, water rights, &c.
