This may be a hot take, but if I saw a fairly harmless "crime" happening I would simply not say anything. I would look the other way. I wouldn't acknowledge it and I would simply never talk about it. I wouldn't feel the need to call up people and inform them I saw anything. Unless they were giving a monetary reward and I didn't like the person.

@lamp @tewi_topper could, afaik the cases of that actually resulting in shit is pretty raremaybe if if i had super valuable stuff and it happened to ME but realistically i would probably only report it stolen for insuracne purposes
