       One of the reasons I get fustrated about people gatekeeping the fediverse and banning the general public etc, its very hard to see something like Kenmure Street happening on here as things are. I knew / followed the first people who saw the Kenmure street van, I met them via twitter. I don't think a single person in that group have moved over here.

       @dale social media is like both email and browsing. we like server assistance with spam (unwanted tagging here) but otherwise no interference with who we can connect to (browsing).people here need to publicly embrace a new norm. no protecting users from stumbling on upsetting content but also no tolerance for intentional harassment. federate with servers with liars and people with bad opinions, but not servers that won't police their users that tag people with shit or poison hashtags.
