@deprecated_ii You deport anyone who isn't of your racial group and set up a series of "busy-work" style jobs of things that need to be done, but could more easily be done by machines. Things like digging ditches with shovels instead of using heavy machinery, or walking along highways to pick up trash.You don't want something like UBI because it gives people free money and you don't want to incentivize poor behavior. You want to give them enough to live and potentially be happy.

@Codeki smallholding is better than make work because people are directly rewarded if they work hard and it dramatically increases the robustness of the nation (food security is automatic, cottage industry becomes viable)also a bunch of supporting local businesses would probably pop up in every town. contrary to popular modern belief you don't actually have to work sun up to sun down to grow enough food to live, so people would have time for other pursuitsif people refuse to do their own work, well maybe they can go do make work for income

Artisanal craftsmanship is also highly desired but that might have the skill floor issue you're talking about, depending on the product.IDK how I haven't heard "smallholding" as a term before. We don't have that culture any more, at least not mainstream. I don't think farming is impossible for low or average IQ people to succeed at, but they're the exact people who are trained to desire the bigger life. But the new shortfall comes from the middling humanities, and some of the lesser STEM degrees.It used to be you could get an English degree, and they were rare enough that it got you a job in publishing, journalism, teaching, etc. Or you could get a psychology degree and go into marketing. College events and career fairs were the entry way to the white collar world. Now, all those slots are filled, and those majors are working at Starbucks or trying to be streamers.

Of course it has been forgotten thanks to multiple factors, which is a shame because it seems like the most realistic solution to the automation issues we're dealing with now.In a nutshell, people should group up and invest in the AI companies as a sort of free market alternative to UBI, and use the infinitely-increasing profits to buy their own robots, printers, etc. to become self-sufficient. I haven't found any site that offers them and just using any voice leads to legal issues (personality rights laws). I thought of a site where people can upload a sample voice clip of themselves so it can be used in any project.
