It might be time for me to go on a news diet again. There are too many events that are beyond my control and influence and it's not effective to let such things be primary sources of worry. Worrying about things you can't change. Nothing I hear about the Supreme Court is calming or confidence inspiring. None of the news about the wars ... Where are the people in these events guided by something bigger than self interest, petty politics, where are the idealists?

@futurebird It's fun for me to remember that the court has no ability to enforce anything.We can literally ignore them, I have already started.It does mean, though, we have to solicit a ton of accountability from the other two branches.

@futurebird news diets are healthy, thanks for the reminder! Complete abstinence however is not, I think. Even if things are going apeshit, it's better to know, especially when it's about time to side step some flying excrement.And maybe, just maybe, once in a while, you'll have the opportunity to help some unfortunate creature that deserved better. That in itself is a source of great joy for me.And when in doubt, I listen to Bobby McFerrin.

@futurebird depending on type, we idealists are getting steamrolled by the Zeitgeist, and are either working quietly or creating the very news that you wish to tune out(I am in the former camp and planning a news diet myself to protect it)
