I hadn't visited @OpenInfraMap in a while: it's a pretty impressive custom rendering of power and telecommunication infrastructure in OpenStreetMap. If you need something new to map in OpenStreetMap, looks like lots of neighborhoods still need to have their power poles mapped! 😳 https://openinframap.org#OpenStreetMap #OpenInfraMap #OpenInfrastructureMap #OpenData #OSM #Infrastructure #cartography

@alan @OpenInfraMap Wow, never seen this before! If it had raster tiles they could be included as a map layer on OSM.org

@migurski @alan @OpenInfraMap Have also never seen this and it is amazing. Is there a list of all such views that pull their data from OSM?

@Iragersh @migurski @alan @OpenInfraMap I love how things like open*map inspire entire new communities to map the things they care about. I started mapping more street lights after encountering lamp map http://osmstreetlight.bplaced.net/#15/40.7447/-111.8684There’s a list of OSM based services on the wiki but that lists much more than these “layer lenses”

I’ve also used / seen openseamap, openpistemap, openrailwaymap and of course the seminal openwhatevermap

@mvexel [Open]WheelMap (they dropped the "Open" part), OpenFireMap (they limited themselves to DACH countries, so OsmHydrant now), OpenAEDMap.And of course, these inspired many MapComplete overlays - so if one wants to see additional thematic maps, https://mapcomplete.org/ .In additional to the already mentioned views, playgrounds, toilets, bookcases and literally dozens of other views.

@Iragersh if you're on Firefox you can get the “OSM Smart Menu" extension that lets you open a whole bunch of OSM derivatives in a dropdown menu whenever you're on osm.org

@Iragersh I looove OpenLevelUp too but indoor mapping is just too tedious for my taste.
