Scheduled a consultation for May 7th with a psychologist that specializes in ADHD & Autism evaluations.Figured it's about time I got my brain looked at by a specialist.

@rythur I'm about 90% sure I've got ADHD but not so sure about autism.It doesn't really bother me much but I've been unemployed for two years now (as of this month). My savings is almost entirely gone so I'm going to use the last of it to see if I can find answers about what's wrong with my brain.And if I do get diagnosed, then maybe I can get someone to help me with finding employment. Cause nothing I'm doing is working.

@drewhans555 It's noble and proper to seek help where you feel you need. I've been absolutely mad at times, but don't get that way now, so there is hope.As for the savings, I can understand that too. Living outside has brought my costs into manageable ranges. Still, it's not for everyone.Either way, don't blame yourself. You are probably just trying to find work at the wrong time. Have you considered retooling or changing how you search for work?Something isn't working, as you know.

@rythur I swallowed my pride a month ago and start applying for remote programmer jobs and for local retail jobs in my area.Figured I'd accept whatever came my way and go from there but I haven't gotten a single interview from any of those applications.The only interview I've had was for a Utility Locator position with USIC. But the hiring process can't move forward until the company's upper management sets up a training class.Feeling stuck in unemployment limbo right now.( – ⌓ – )

@drewhans555 This does sound rough. I'm sorry to hear it, honestly.It sounds like the market might have shifted relative to your skill-set. And if not this, then maybe something else you haven't considered. Because you should be getting some interview somewhere, under active applying.Limbo indeed. On the bright, you're learning more about yourself due to it all.

@rythur Like here's a perfect example.I'm a 5 minute walk from this Krogers. I have relevant experience (from before working in tech). Applied back in March. Few days later the application status goes from "Processing application" to "Under Consideration". And it's been like that now for over a month.WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN DUDE?(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻And this is a retail job! A minimum wage retail job!WHY? WTF!?

@rythur And all my tech job applications usually follow the same pattern:- I apply- I get nice email from company- radio silence, or- email saying they're passing over meLike dude, what am I supposed to do?How the heck do I get in front of a human? I swear these ATS systems should be illegal.
