We've been working on website projects with the Lapis web framework (Lua, nginx server). https://leafo.net/lapis/I am pleased with it. Will be relaunching my own website with it soon. We have other projects in the works, too. #webdev #lua #programming #nginx

@matthew Interesting, what led you to choose Lua for this?

I've admired Lua for a while. I like how simple, small and fast it is. I have heard that Lua has language design concepts that are similar to Lisp and Scheme. You may know more about that than I do.

@matthew I honestly didn't look into Lua much until I examined Fennel on last week's stream. I was surprised to see that Lua does have a few similarities to Scheme, and paired with a Lisp syntax like Fennel, it becomes a pretty attractive choice for scripting.Lapis does sound interesting, and it must be working pretty well if it powers all of itch.io!

On the recording of the stream, did you talk a bit about the similarities between Lua and Scheme? I may go back and watch that. I saw that you had a video on Fennel but haven't watched yet. I've done a few little things with it before, even made a video about it a few years back. So far, I am really impressed with Lapis and plan to use it for quite a few projects. #Lua #Scheme #lapis #programming #webdev
