       @nugger @Miyako The difference between an online community and an actual, meatspace one is the difference between hauling loads in Euro Truck Simulator and actually working as a trucker. Shitty approximation for getting a feel for the real thing, a fun thing you do on the side or a permanent home for malignant outcasts.

       They have one on display in Omaha at the Union Pacific museum. It's pretty damned impressive! My wife hates my infatuation with buildings that have the suffix 'eum. She rushes me thru them, so I make her go back.

       @nugger @Miyako Yeah, how can you community online if you can't even seggs.  Everything is limited to the vicarious, and the only community is the second-hand approximation of community.Not that that's necessarily even the biggest problem moderns have with interpersonal relations, but I guess it's the most obvious.
