       For those who don't know... Norman Lear deserves far less credit for All in the Family than he is given.He was the producer. He took a BBC show, Til Death Us Do Part, and transferred the characters to the U.S. The rest of the genius is up to the actors and writers. Sure, he had oversight. But much like The Office in the early 00's, All in the Family started in the UK.HERE is an episode.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8qSRu6b4Go&list=PLgeGcX2U-sIGC-OhLbHpppoDrkUy3a1Ir

       @jessecoynelson I agree. I remember watching TDDUP when I was a kid. Exceptional writing. However, I would argue that, of all the British TV series that were “repurposed” into American series, The Office was the only one that was better than the original.

       @GMacSpark I love both The Office and All in the Family. I got all The Office season on DVD, and have re-watched it with my woman, which has been fun. Before I met her, maybe 2015 to 2016, I went through all of All in the Family. I saw them very young, so it was a treat to go through the series. Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton were so excellent. Sally Struthers was very good... and so was Rob Reiner (even though post 1990 he's a colossal shit-sack).

       @jessecoynelson Yeah, I wonder what happened to Reiner? Or was he always like that?

       @GMacSpark I just pretend he always had the giant douche bag seed within him... so I can't dislike (un-love) as movies, Spinal Tap, Princess Bride, and Misery. Nothing else that he did afterward ranks as a favorite for me.After South Park... the full dark side was unveiled.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvpK998H6Kk

       @jessecoynelson I believe Threes Company and Sanford and Son were based on UK shows as well.

       @Jack5150 Interesting... I didn't know that, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. 👍
