Good morning y'all. I'm really worried about my momHer toes have healed since she got the stent three weeks ago, but the bone in her foot hasn't healed, and is still infected. It is getting worse.And, she's got fluid in her lungs. Pneumonia. I know that kills a lot of older people.I have the radiologist coming for chest x-ray today. What do I do to treat for Pneumonia? I don't think I've ever had that myself, only bronchitis.

@MMA I got it one summer during my Jr. High School years. I was the only person in my family to get sick.We had the sweetest neighbor lady who was a nurse. She worked with mama and daddy and they tended me to health.All I remember is antibiotics from the doctor and mama giving me chewable Vit C's and juice. I took so many that I've never liked chewable Vit C since. lolPrayers for your mom and you as you care for her.🙏

@SweetIceTea I am glad to hear that. I did tell her tons of C! So my instincts were right. I have a feeling she's going to be hospitalized. I don't want that.

@MMA Prayers for your mom.My youngest had pneumonia when she was three. The doctor said if it’s bacterial the antibiotic will take care of it and if it’s viral it will have to run its course. She prescribed an antibiotic and within a day, the cough was gone.

@MMAIs she able to walk around? If she can't she needs one of these, 10 times/hour to take deep breaths. A bit okay of pneumonia is not taking deep enough breaths. The lungs close in the outer areas and secretions stay and can grow goobers.

@Lori She is walking, haltingly, but she's always been sendetary and and lot of her health issues are a result of that. It is hard to keep her moving. I can get her one of those-- where do I pick it up?

@MMA I have heard they suck out the fluid in the lungs to help. That was a new one for me. Strong antibiotics I would think. The bone infection will keep her immune system low untilIt is healed. An infectious disease doctor should have a good idea of what to do for the bone. Husband had one and they use all the new $$ drugs but are effective.
