Humidifiers: Use us during the winter to keep humidity above 30%Also Humidifiers: Only use the purest distilled water every day, empty entirely after every use, scrub clean daily without using any detergents, descale with vinegar every 3 days, and you might still wind up with respiratory issues from some hidden bacteria anyway.

@mrman I legit left my half filled humidifier on my dresser through almost the entire summer until I realized the bad smell that was driving me crazy was coming from the humidifier. After emptying it and putting it away, I recently got it out and tried to scrub it clean. It still smells. And now that I'm using it I'm pretty sure it's given me the black lung.I'm a wuss. A coughing and hacking wuss.

@DaddyO I use RO water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent. The filter still gets dirty.
