The Bay Bridge has been closed down because of wind. A lot of people have to cross it for work. If they hadn't left, they're stuck. It happened to my sister and me in DC from snow when we both worked there. If you left early, it was held against you. Tree branches are cracking and falling in our yard. May the Lord keep you safe.

@SweetIceTea Thanks. Areas are flooding, but we bought on higher ground and have 2 sump pumps. It's the trees that scare me from the wind. I'll just take a pill and go to bed, lol.

@Java @SweetIceTea we have 2 sump pumps too, plus a 3rd thats battery operated. Both the primary and secondary are running now. The secondary only ran once b4 in the 2.5 years we've lived here.

@Phil @Java The wind that came through here this evening with the main line of storms was frightening. It's still pretty windy now. I'm curious to see if there is any tree damage tomorrow. Hope that both of your sump pumps do the job you need them to do.

@Phil Oh, cool! Battery operated! I'm going to mention it to my husband. One of ours runs a lot. We sit on top of a lot of water in this part of the state. We'll probably be underwater before Florida, lol. @SweetIceTea

@Java @SweetIceTea it uses a 12 volt marine battery and only comes on when the water rises above the other 2. So that only happens in a power outage. It buys time but a power outage lasting more than a few hours would drain the battery. So for that you need a generator

@Java @SweetIceTea we do too but it doesn't come on by itself, so if we aren't home, the battery buys time.
