Congee for Gut Inflammationpronouced (kahn-jee)This simple traditional dish can soothe your gastrointestinal tract. Congee is basically a watered down rice dish cooked much longer than normal. The rice becomes like a paste that helps to mend the mucosal lining and reduce mucosal inflammation. It does not treat the cause of the problem but can offer a nice element of support.Ingredients:ricewaterbutter or gheesalt (optional)gingerDirections:1 part rice to 9 parts waterbring to boilsimmer 20 minutes and add ingredients to tastesimmer another 2-3 hoursThere are many variations and you can add just about any ingredient however, this recipe is for a sensitive digestive tract so it’s best to keep it simple.#nutrition #medicinalfoods #holistichealth #medicine

@DrCassone -- I'm trying to put alpha-gal syndrome into remission and repairing my gut seems to be a big part of that. Since I can't eat mammal ingredients, I'm going to try unrefined coconut oil instead of butter. Thanks for the idea! :D
