It's really funny just how poorly this has aged, despite many still treating it like a silver bullet "gotcha".https://xkcd.com/1357/

On that note, thank you for being so graciously tolerant of my uncouth opinions and speech on/via SPC. It's very much appreciated in this dystopian world of rampant censorship and tyrannically imposed group-think. ❤️

If it was just talking about little hole in the wall instances or what would have been message boards at the time I could be more tolerant of it.But the second it is some megacorp like google or facebook that routinely collaborates with and receives funds from the government it becomes laughably ridiculous.

>It's not censorship as long as the government doesn't do it directly to you. If government proxies do it, then it's fair gameI wish more people brought up that case where demonstrators against a mining company held a rally on a mining town property of the company, were kicked out and court ruled that since it was the ONLY way they could protest against the company, they had the right to do so.

@Morghur @CatLord @gabriel Did you know that Microsoft has been under audit since 2007? They just keep dragging out their case with the IRS for as long as possible because the legal fees are less than the taxes they owe. Point is, if a tech giant wants to just not obey the law, they have the resources to use the governments own processes against them. The laws don't really matter either way until we have a system willing to enforce them fairly.
