How do you handle it when people are angry at you? My default is to run, shut everyone out and hide, though in this case, I have done absolutely nothing wrong and I refuse to shut down this time but it angers me the situation got a rise out of me. Any great books on whatever psychological thing this is??

@TheCM Is it righteous anger? Anger is a legitimate human emotion, given by God. “Be angry and sin not.”

@mikegastin Maybe? I think I am trying to figure out why this person being angry at me caused such a literal, visceral reaction in me. I know I probably care too much about the situation and feel like my integrity is being questioned.

@TheCM Ah! I got ya. I thought you were feeling badly for getting angry. Good for you to try to sort it out.

@TheCM lol I do too!!When I was an AD I had to work real hard to keep that part in check. You don’t want the underlings to see how mad the can make you. It doesn’t turn out well.

@TheCM The Art of War by SunAll joking aside, it actually is a very, very good book on how to handle confrontations.Timeless knowledge such as knowing yourself to win or making sure even a decisive victory presents an option of an out for the so-called enemy. Also this is a really great site, not just for men and boys. https://www.artofmanliness.com/people/social-skills/how-to-be-assertive/https://www.artofmanliness.com/people/social-skills/handle-difficult-conversations/

@TheCM David J LIeberman has "Never Get Angry Again". I wouldn't call it a great book, but I found it useful, short and concise and well written. One that was helpful for me in a practical way was "Nonviolent Communication" (Marshall Rosenberg) - which now that you've got me thinking about it, I need to re-read. 😶
