       @adam & @Johncdvorak: As a young TV programming exec (circa 1980's) I recognized Norman Lear's leftist agenda and often advised TV stations to buy other syndicated programs, which surely dented Lear's bottom line.My third book, "Mack Daddy" (Kensington. 2006), identified TV sitcoms as leading the war on men and specifically, fathers.  It became a lightning rod for that controversy.I never imagined Demond Wilson would be simpatico!

       @chaibudesh @adam @Johncdvorak Yep. Lear bought the rights to this Brit show and reconfigured it as All In The Family.Sanford & Son was originally Steptoe & Son, also a Brit production.Lear was hardly creative, but a shrewd business man. And a very annoying Lefty.
