Google verification requirements are nuts! Just in order to access YouTube studio I now have to verify it's me by entering my password, then using a Google registered check for a notification at which point I then have to enter in the code they give me on that device.So if one doesn't have their Google account registered on a device (i.e. Graphene) then one can't access their own YouTube content.Such stupid.

@CrimeaRiver I only use YouTube Studios toa: - steal royalty free songs from their audio libraryb: - post unlisted videos to share with family and friends (because it's the only thing I can get most of them to figure out how to access).So if it died tomorrow, I'd be okay. I'm not a "YouTuber" - thank goodness.

@DaddyO You might be able to bypass the second check, by adding 2-factor to your account.I'm really annoyed that both Microsoft and Paypal have defaulted to not asking for your password, and just sending a code to your phone/email. What was the point of the password? Then, when I say, "No, let me enter my password", it still immediately makes me get the code from my email anyway!

@DaddyO If it was just software, yes we could use OpenSource. However, I completely lost one of my Google accounts via this scheme, used only for YT watching on Roku for years. Up to '22 switching to new Roku was trivial, just sign in and done. Roku died, I got new one, same process, log in Roku, must login on PC, to login on PC code sent to email, code entered , ... no you can't log in you MUST use device on which this account was used previously. Well, that Roku is dead, well, no access ever
