Some ridiculous figure came out this morning saying that in the US 92% of the highest rated TV events in 2023 were NFL games. Has consistently gone up since pre-covid by a LOT. So now in NA you must CONFESS- do you watch NFL or NCAAF circuses :

@ScoWer22 I wonder if this has less to do with it getting suddenly more popular but rather people turning to streaming services for most entertainment *except* sports, which are pretty well locked in by the major networks.

@mh Great point. Less & less worth watching on "antennae" TV. So what else is broadcast anymore? Silly reality shows, stupid gameshows worse than Jeopardy. Idiotic masked & other singing & talent & dancing shows. Ugh. TV was bad enough when i was a kid to pick from. But you're right about how football keeps growing. There simply IS nothing else. @ReadyKilowatt Wow. Had a very good friend in law school I kept in contact w/ since. Parents divorced. From CHI, but moved to CA when he was a kid. CPA and top accounting firm before becoming a lawyer. LEft it ALL to deal blackjack at casinos and become a pitboss and MGT at Indian rez casinos nationwide. Incredibly smart, funny, fun to be with and around. Unwavering far-left politics. Most fun guy I've played cards with among many poker card groups. Most knowledgeable baseball stats. umaybright.

@ReadyKilowatt I don't think he had any moral reservations about fleecing. But if you're good at poker, & i was, my dad & older brothers taught me, it's fun to play with other good players. Whether Texas Hold'em or Omaha, or more standard games. Whenever i beat my friend, or my oldest brother, they'd tell me the odds against what I drew out to in the last card or 2. I knew when i was throwing good $ after bad. But they hated it when the stars aligned. And still kept schooling me. Love 'em both!

@Lordimpala Since i asked everyone to be on the honor code, but cannot vote myself, here's me. Because ONE of my two boys, 23 and 22, loves football, and my wife does too, I watch probably 3-4 college and pro games/week with them. I cancelled our cable TV about a dozen years ago, so we only HAVE broadcast antennae channels, so not much choice. But wife and kids watch netflix, amazon prime, etc. Now MY confession. I do check the espn website for college and pro results. Still follow circuses.

Which by the mobs' numbers and personnel that form our govt since at least JFK's assassination (depicted in the Godfather films) operate by. We only had 25 responding to the poll but I'll tip my hat to almost 3/4's of gitmo who said they don't watch football, or only the super bowl. The other 25% of us are still distracted by circuses. It is an addiction I'll work on-thanks!
