This morning, many people will be returning to work after the holiday season, and they'll immediately inquire if I've completed all the tasks they requested via email just before their vacation. My wife and I have placed bets on when the first email of this kind will arrive. @mischa Exactly! The last thing they do before turning off their computers on Friday is asking for (non-urgent) things. The first thing they do on Monday, as soon as they turn on their computers, is "is it ready?" ๐ If it were a ten-minute task, I could understand, but often it's something like "I need 5 servers configured in this way..."

@paul I never - totally - stop working, but I always say that if ill or during the holidays, I just deal with urgencies. Some don't care at all.

@stefano at least itโs off their plates. Even if itโs a ten-minute task. It means to me that people then donโt value your time. Which makes me not value theirs. :)
