       i’m in vienna. there’s an amusement park here called th’ “prater” that has been around since 1766.people need amusement, and here they’re amused together.this frivolity goes on year round — there’s no admission charged to stroll around & be entranced by blinking lights, loud music, screams of thrill seekers… & th’ rides are reasonably priced.1/

       one ride at th’ prater i’m deeply drawn to is a 117-meter-tall tower known as th’ “praterturm” w/ simple seats on long chains, swung around in a circle. i’d love to swing round & round, seeing the city lights at night from up above, but motion sickness would make me very ill. maybe i ought to dose myself in advance w/ ginger root or dramamine? anyone try this?2/
