You what's a great way to direct energy? Copper cables! We already have the way to transmit millions of watts of electric power long distances, it's called RADIO!DARPA needs to google "inverse square law" before they start issuing money for this fake research.https://dronedj.com/2024/01/04/darpas-power-project-to-use-drones-as-energy-relay-stations/

@ReadyKilowatt Oh - I'll bet they will use directional antennas (probably some phased array) to reduce losses. BUT if they get more than 10% of the input power to the destination I will be impressed.

@mhjohnson that's what I mean. Dispersion is a real bitch over any distance.

@ReadyKilowatt @mhjohnson In the article, they reference “low power” transmission. Have any of these numbnuts ever been in a war? Do they realize a) how much electricity is actually needed, and b) how much energy is actually dependent on diesel fuel?

@ReadyKilowatt Might work at 0.5 Hz....If the initial generated power sent to the transmitter were free. IIRC, the whole STNG galactic society was moneyless because energy was free, enabling replicators, etc.
