@Wolven What it is (I speculate, casually) is permission to question his judgment. People may have heard about various things but dismissed them, because they had already assessed Elon as someone too smart to do the things he accused of. But "he's on drugs" is an excuse to see him clearly now without admitting you were wrong about him before.

@Wolven I agree the drug use isn't the main issue with Musk but then again Tesla is roughly average as a car company, and if anything the issue with SpaceX is that they are so far ahead of every other private company and even government that Musk essentially controls access to space. What should turn people against Musk is not the companies that managed to insulate themselves from him and succeed, but how his mismanagement of Twitter has revealed him to be a malign dummy.

@Wolven So, a thought I have on this is that it paves the way for a “redemption arc.” if people can be led to believe his actions over the past few years are the results of drug use, and not actually who he is as a person, then he can use this to try to restore his image.

@Wolven honestly I'd worry a hell of a lot more about abuse of adderall than shrooms or ketamine because it can amplify all that other bad stuff on a continual basis. I'd think ketamine & shrooms were liable to be self-limiting w.r.t. causing harm to others.(ketamine can pose existential risks [sic], but those would be elon's business, not mine.)
