       @jeffjarvis Given the scalability of algorithmic processes, does the use of AI by the press increase the possibility that natural monopolies could result due to the creation of high barriers to entry and high start-up costs?**Could AI create a "press" equivalent of Google?** An AI system, by expanding its input sources, could grow to the point where it provides a single-source of reporting on almost all events. It would be very difficult to compete with such a system.

       @bobwyman This is why it is critical to support open-source AI. The EU has toyed with outlawing open-source; a clearer case of regulatory capture by incumbents, I cannot imagine. Also, forcing payment for training sets might limit data to just big players. Similarly, the EU considering liability at the model level will restrict work to those who can afford the insurance.
